Manchester’s Tom Lawrinson is coming over the water, and yes, he knows exactly what he’s in for. On 21 January, the comic brings his brand new solo show, ‘Speak of the Devil’, to Hot Water Comedy Club – so if you fancy a night dodging January gloom, this could be your answer.
What’s It About?
Lawrinson’s got a reputation for sharp storytelling, sly punchlines and very little filter – basically, he’s the sort of comic who’ll have you laughing before you know it, and wondering if you’re allowed to. ‘Speak of the Devil’ is his latest hour, with the usual dose of self-deprecation and, judging by his track record, a willingness to say the sort of things most people only mutter on the 79 bus home. You might have heard him on BBC Radio 4 or seen his viral clips online. One thing’s certain: it’s a night built for real comedy fans, and not for anyone after mild anecdotes about sensible hobbies.
When Is It On?
There’s just the one Liverpool date: Thursday, 21 January 2027. Doors open at 7pm, so you’ve got plenty of time after work for some chippy scran – or more sensibly, queue up early if you want a decent seat.
Where Is It?
Hot Water Comedy Club, 17 Blackstock Street, Liverpool, L3 6ER. If you haven’t been yet, it’s up at Blackstock Market (look for the neon sign and the people trying to act natural in a photo booth).
Tickets
Tickets start from £20 and are on sale through the official Hot Water Comedy Club website. Best be quick if you reckon it’ll be packed out – January telly really does drive people out the house.
More Information
To check for updates, accessibility or any last-minute announcements, see the official event page from Hot Water Comedy Club.
Careful though – sitting front row at Hot Water is always a risk. Pick your seat wisely and if Tom Lawrinson mentions ‘the lad with the boss hair’, don’t make eye contact.
