The people of Liverpool have seen plenty over the years – dodgy referees, street preachers, even a politician busking in Church Street. But even we might not be ready for what’s about to land in the Royal Court – Studio. On 22 January, comedian Rosie Holt is bringing her hit show, The Illegal Aliens Have Landed!, straight to Roe Street – and apparently to a government in utter meltdown.
What’s It About?
Rosie Holt and her infamous MP alter ego are back and facing a proper cosmic problem. Labour, we’re told, are trying to keep up with the Tories’ obsession with stopping the boats, all while still looking ‘dead left wing’ for the cameras. Simple, right? Then, out of nowhere, actual UFOs touch down – proving that things really can get weirder in British politics. Expect sly digs at the headlines, quick-fire satire, and a few uncomfortable truths, all via Holt’s whip-smart political comedy.
