There’s something satisfying about giving your brain a workout before the sugar rush of Halloween. On Hope Street, things are set to get suspicious – and probably a bit daft – as Downstairs at the Everyman transforms into a playground for amateur detectives. If you’ve ever shouted at Poirot on the telly, now’s your moment.
What’s it about?
The Murder Mystery: Halloween Special promises an interactive night of sleuthing, banter and plenty of head scratching. Hosted by DBY Interactive, this isn’t a show where you just sit there watching the drama unfold. Here, you and your table mates get to do the guessing, the analysis, and possibly the dramatic gasps. It’s a whodunit with a Scouse twist: your wits versus the plot, and maybe the odd red herring.
When is it on?
If you’ve got plans for mischief on actual Halloween, you’re in luck: this event runs across two nights, 30th and 31st October 2026. That’s Thursday and Friday before the weekend crowds descend. The official listing doesn’t give a start time, so double-check closer to the date – or use it as an excuse to get there early for a cheeky pre-mystery pint.
Where?
The fun takes place Downstairs at the Everyman, one of the cosier spots on Hope Street. It’s all low ceilings, atmospheric lighting, and that unmistakable Everyman buzz. If walls could talk… well, there’d be less mystery and more confessions.
Tickets
Tickets are £42, according to the official Everyman & Playhouse listing. It’s a set price – no tricks, just treats. Book your tickets here if you reckon you’ve got what it takes to unmask this year’s culprit (and if you’re quick enough – murder mysteries are known to sell out quicker than the last Ringo Starr slice at a Beatles night).
