You’re standing in the middle of World Museum, staring down a puzzle that’s got your head spinning. Somewhere nearby, a magician is making numbers dance, and the smell of fresh pencil shavings hangs in the air. If you’re after a proper brain workout on a Liverpool weekend, Mind Games is just the ticket.
What’s It About?
‘Mind Games’ is part of the museum’s Celebration of Mind event – a day dedicated to the sort of puzzles, optical illusions, maths tricks and games that can turn a quiet afternoon into a full-blown family competition. Whether you’ve got a competitive streak or just fancy a go at something a bit different, there’s plenty here to stretch your mind. Magic and maths join forces, so don’t be surprised if you spot the odd card trick or a maze that’s more confusing than four-way traffic at the Rocket.
When Is It On?
This one’s a one-day special: 24 October 2026. Mark it on your wall calendar now, or set a reminder so you don’t forget – smartphones might be clever, but they’ve got nothing on a proper puzzle.
Where Is It?
Mind Games will be held at World Museum, William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EN. If you haven’t visited lately, now’s a great excuse. Central, close to Lime Street station, and impossible to miss – unless you’re still lost in that maze from earlier.
Tickets
No need to stump up for big city prices – this event is free, though the museum will be made up with a small donation if you’re able. Book your place through the official National Museums Liverpool page. Don’t risk it – puzzles have been known to cause crowds, and you’ll want a seat at the table.
