Nights out in Liverpool have never been short on laughs, but if you fancy a proper dose of stand-up with more energy than a Saturday night on Mathew Street, Michael Akadiri’s latest show is stepping up at the Royal Court’s Studio for one night only. Grab your mates and prepare to meet the award-nominated comic everyone’s been talking about – just don’t call him Uncle.
What’s It About?
Following the buzz from two hit UK tours, Michael Akadiri is back on stage, armed with a new stand-up show, Don’t Call Me Uncle!. The doctor-turned-comic (and yes, he’s still working shifts on the NHS) draws on his not-so-average day job for inspiration – so expect sharp, witty observations on medicine, family, and life’s most awkward encounters. Fresh from a Biggest Award in Comedy nomination, Akadiri’s humour mixes smart storytelling with a splash of mischief, all prescription-strength for maximum laughs.
When Is It On?
You’ve got one shot: Saturday, 23 January 2027. Curtain up at 7:00pm. No room for “I’ll catch it next week” here – unless you’ve got a time machine handy.
Where Is It?
Liverpool Royal Court – Studio, 1 Roe Street, Liverpool, L1 1HL. That means you get all the big theatre vibes with a more intimate gig atmosphere (and you’re only a quick stroll from the bus stops if you fancy a celebratory bevvy afterwards).
Tickets
Standard tickets are £18 each. For official online booking, grab your seats here through the Liverpool Royal Court website.
