Meet and make: wire bracelet making at Sudley House

Bit tired of the same old four walls and fancy a crafty afternoon? Sudley House is rolling out the finest wires and beads in south Liverpool for a spot of bracelet making. If January’s feeling a bit flat, this could be just the ticket – You’ll head home with your very own take on Victorian bling, crafted under the gaze of a few serious-looking portraits.

What’s It About?

Inspired by the elegant jewellery worn by the folks in Sudley House’s famous portraits, this workshop is your chance to create a unique wire bracelet of your own. Don’t worry if your last attempt at creativity was a bit ‘soft lad’ in school art – it’s about having a go, picking up a few tricks, and enjoying yourself among fellow makers in a grand Mossley Hill setting.

When Is It On?

Friday 8 January 2027, starting at 4pm. It’s after school, after work, or simply after you’ve decided to do something a bit different for yourself.

Where Is It?

Sudley House, Mossley Hill Road, Liverpool, L18 8BX. One of the city’s most charming galleries, tucked away just off Rose Lane. Should be sound for parking and handy for a quick stroll in the grounds afterwards, if you fancy showing off your new creation.

Tickets

This is a ticketed session, and advance booking is essential. Reserve your spot through the official Sudley House website.

Just remember, if your first attempt turns out more avant-garde than antique, you can always tell people it’s ‘proper Victorian style’. Happens to the best of us.
