Meet and make: paint pouring at the Lady Lever

The lights over Port Sunlight are flickering on, outside everything’s getting a bit grey. But inside Lady Lever it’s all bubbling colour and the smell of fresh paint. If you’ve ever fancied having a go at something creative – without worrying if you’re any good – this is your kind of Friday afternoon.

What’s It About?

Every so often, Lady Lever Art Gallery sets up a relaxed afternoon for people who like making things – or think they might, if only they tried. This November, it’s all about paint pouring. Expect bubbling paint pots, easygoing conversation and a bit of a mess in the best possible way. You’ll learn paint pouring basics, see what happens when colours pool together and hopefully leave with your own abstract masterpiece. It’s not a competition – just time to chill and meet people who like a bit of craft. All materials are sorted by the gallery, so you don’t need to bring a thing, except maybe your willingness to have a go.

When Is It On?

The session takes place on Friday, 20 November 2026 at 3:30pm. Perfect timing for some post-school-run creative time or a mindful finish to the week.

Where Is It?

Lady Lever Art Gallery, Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, CH62 5EQ. If you haven’t walked through the gardens lately, it’s a boss excuse for an autumn wander.
