There’s a certain joy in walking up the long path to Sudley House, especially at Christmas. The gardens feel quieter, the house looks even grander, and if you peer through the window, it almost feels like stepping back in time. But never mind the history for now – Sudley is opening its doors for a spot of festive making.
What’s It About?
Meet and make: Christmas special at Sudley House is a chance to spend a proper crafty morning in one of Liverpool’s finest old houses. You’ll pick up a new skill or two, meet some local faces, and go home with something festive you’ve made yourself – ideal if you’re after a break from tinsel-tat or want to pretend the baubles on your tree are handmade (we won’t tell).
The session is designed for all abilities, so you don’t need to be the next Blue Peter presenter or have a drawer full of glitter at home. All you need is a bit of curiosity and the urge to get creative before the real Christmas rush kicks in. It’s also a sound excuse to take in some Mossley Hill history while you’re there.
When Is It On?
This one’s happening on Friday, 11 December 2026. The session kicks off at 11am. Mark your calendar if you’re after something different this Christmas – you’ll get through the event before the school run or the lunch queues in town.
Where Is It?
The event’s at Sudley House, Mossley Hill Road, Liverpool, L18 8BX. It’s worth a visit for the Victorian art and the cake alone, never mind the excuse to get glue on your hands.

Just remember – the only thing better than homemade decorations are the ones made in a house fancier than your auntie’s front room. Ta-ra, tangled tinsel.
