It’s always a bit eerie walking past the Playhouse at night, but November’s set to raise the hairs on the back of your neck for real. The Haunting of Hill House is coming to Liverpool, and Williamson Square might be keeping the lights on a bit later than usual.
What’s it about?
Adapted from Shirley Jackson’s classic tale, The Haunting of Hill House is a spine-tingler where the house itself is the star. If you like your drama with a shiver and a touch of old-school ghostly mayhem, you’re in for a treat. The story follows a group of strangers gathered in a house that’s seen things – none of them particularly cheery. Expect suspense, secrets and possibly a few jumps (steady on, la, it’s only theatre).
When is it on?
Haunting the Playhouse from 3–7 November 2026. That’s five nights of spooky goings-on right in the centre of town. Perfect excuse for an autumn night out, as long as you’re not easily rattled by mysterious noises in the dark.
Where?
It’s on at the Playhouse Theatre, Liverpool – right on Williamson Square, where you’re less likely to get lost than some of the show’s characters.
Tickets
Prices range from £17 to £47, depending on where you want to be perched for the action. Book via the official Everyman & Playhouse box office.
