Purple lights reflected off the Museum’s grand columns as a kid pointed at the paper lanterns by the entrance. That’s Diwali in Liverpool – a proper burst of colour right in the middle of William Brown Street. If you’re after some November cheer, World Museum’s putting on a full day for the festival of lights, with plenty to see (and maybe make).
What’s It About?
World Museum is celebrating Diwali – the Hindu festival of lights – with a friendly mix of live dance, crafts for the whole family, and talks about what Diwali means to people in Liverpool. Whether you’ve grown up celebrating or just fancy something different, you can step inside and have a go, or just watch the bold outfits and pick up some new traditions. No pressure, sound.
When Is It On?
It’s all happening on Friday 14 November 2026, starting from 11am. Pop by anytime to join in or just soak up the atmosphere with your mates or your nan.
Where Is It?
World Museum, William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EN. Smack in the middle of town, a short stroll from Lime Street – so no excuses about buses.
Tickets
Free entry (donations are welcome, if you’re feeling generous). You don’t need to book ahead, but you can find all the official details here: Diwali at World Museum – official event page.
