Day of the Dead Dance Workshop

Day of the Dead Dance Workshop

Somewhere between the Egyptian mummies and the old yellow bus in the World Museum, you’ll spot a room with families testing their salsa moves. It’s not just another Wednesday in Liverpool – it’s the Day of the Dead Dance Workshop, popping up this October.

What’s It About?

The Day of the Dead Dance Workshop at World Museum is a chance to try your hand (or feet) at some lively moves in honour of the Day of the Dead festival. The focus is on family fun: expect an energetic, welcoming dance session, not a silent disco with skeleton masks. No fancy costumes are needed – just bring your best willingness to join in, and maybe your nan if you think she’s still got the rhythm.

Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, is all about celebrating loved ones with music, colour and a proper good atmosphere. This workshop offers a window into Mexican tradition and gets everyone moving. Great whether you’ve got two left feet or fancy yourself the next Strictly finalist.

When Is It On?

It’s a one-day affair on 28 October 2026. Perfect for families looking for an autumn half-term activity that doesn’t involve queuing for the giant spiders in the bug house.

Where Is It?

The action takes place at World Museum, William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EN. That’s slap bang in the middle of the city, just round the corner from Central Library and the Walker.

Tickets

The workshop is free (donations welcome if you’re feeling generous), but spaces can fill up fast. To save your spot, check the details and book directly through the official museum page.

More Information

For a full run-down of the Day of the Dead festivities (and to see what else is on offer at World Museum), visit the National Museums Liverpool website.

If nothing else, it’ll give the kids a story for school about how you nearly got your foot stuck under a papier-mâché maraca. Sound day out, that.
