Picture it: Saturday afternoon, and anyone looking for that matchday buzz is casting an eye north-east. Everton are swapping the river for the Wear – it’s Sunderland vs Everton, and we’re all hoping the Blues save our nerves for once.
What’s the match?
It’s the Premier League, matchday 26, and Everton are on the road to face Sunderland. With points at a premium, you can expect plenty of noise from both terraces. Sunderland’s always a proper away day for those who fancy the full experience – pies not optional.
When is it on?
Saturday, 20 February 2027, with kick-off at 15:00. A perfectly respectable slot for those who like their football like they like their chippy tea – traditional, with minimal faff. If you’re making the trip, set off early and brace yourself for the classic matchday slog up the M62 and beyond.
Where?
Officially an away game, so keep your blue shirts tucked in until you hit the right end. Sunderland will be hosting, but Everton fans will know the drill by now – find your end, locate the nearest cuppa, and hope for a decent view of the pitch. While the source lists Everton Stadium, for this fixture you’ll be in Sunderland’s patch.
