Memory stroll at the Walker Art Gallery with House of Memories

What's On

Memory stroll at the Walker Art Gallery with House of Memories

You’re standing inside the Walker Art Gallery, somewhere between the grand staircase and the portraits your nan used to tell you off for pulling faces at. Suddenly, you’re invited to step back – not just in time, but through Liverpool’s past, trading stories rather than swapping places in the queue for a cuppa.

What’s It About?

The Memory stroll at the Walker Art Gallery, with House of Memories, is a guided visit specially designed for older adults and people living with dementia. Instead of stuffy tours, this is a warm, welcoming walk through Liverpool life, where everyone’s stories are just as important as the art on the walls. Expect to hear echoes of family days out, first jobs and days when Lime Street was buses as far as the eye could see. There’ll be gentle prompts, friendly faces and a good bit of local nostalgia – boss for anyone keen to remember, reminisce or just enjoy a change of scene.

When Is It On?

This Memory stroll takes place on 11 December 2026, starting at 11am. A sound way to spend a winter morning – especially if you fancy a walk indoors without getting caught in the Liverpool drizzle.
