The ancient Greeks had their gods, their statues, and their philosophers. Now they’ve got another epic battle – saving sea turtles on their sun-soaked beaches. Not your average Thursday in Liverpool, but World Museum is bringing a splash of conservation drama with “Beyond the Label: Tracks in the Sand: Sea-turtle Conservation in Greece.”
What’s It About?
Gary Hedges, from World Museum’s own curatorial team, is heading up this talk. He’ll share what sea turtles are up against in Greece: pollution, climate change, and the age-old issue of humans and wildlife jostling for the best bit of sand. Expect insights into conservation work, what it means for the species, and maybe a cheeky tale or two from the front lines of Mediterranean turtle protection. Great for anyone who wants to learn a bit more than the basics.
When Is It On?
This one-off talk takes place on 4 March 2027. Perfect for shaking off the winter blues with thoughts of sunnier shores – and maybe coming away inspired to join your own local wildlife effort, or just brag to your mates about your deep sea turtle knowledge.
Where Is It?
World Museum, William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EN. Smack in the heart of town and just up the hill from Lime Street. You won’t need your flippers to get there.
