Picture a Liverpool evening with the city lights bouncing off the Everyman. In one of the upstairs rooms, there’s a group of teenagers scribbling furiously, acting daft and dreaming up the next big play to grace the local stage. That’s YEP Writers 14-17 for you: the sound of young talent, sharpening their pens and their wit.
What’s it about?
The Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) Writers Workshops are for anyone aged 14–17 who’s itching to tell stories and see them performed. Whether you’ve got a script half-finished on your phone or you only write when the English teacher makes you, this is a chance to dive in. Over several months, you’ll learn the ropes of playwriting – characters, dialogue, stage directions, the lot – honed with help from real theatre folk at the Everyman.
No experience needed. Just curiosity, a head full of what-ifs, and a bit of nerve. If you’re interested in telling tales (and let’s be honest, most Scousers are), this could be the start of something boss.
When is it on?
The workshops run from 11 November 2026 to 10 March 2027. It’s not a one-off; you’ll be coming back, getting to know the gang, and building up a proper piece of work.
Where?
Every session is held at Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre, Hope Street. Dead central, easy by bus, and you can get a chippy after. What’s not to love?
