There’s mince pies in the staffroom, the shops are packed with selection boxes, and you just know someone’s eyeing up the tea towel for an impromptu shepherd headpiece. Yes, it can only mean one thing: The Scouse Nativity is heading back to Liverpool’s Royal Court. Christmas in town suddenly got a lot louder.
What’s It About?
The Royal Court is famous for mixing classic tales with pure Scouse attitude, and this nativity is no exception. Expect live comedy, original music, and a script that puts the city centre front and centre. They’re billing it as “the daddy of them all” and – going off past crowds – there’ll be plenty of wise men (and downright daft ones) poking fun at everything from the Three Kings to the queue in Primark. It’s familiar, festive, and definitely not your average nativity. If your idea of Christmas involves laughs and the odd nod to Liverpool’s best and worst bits, you’re sound here.
When Is It On?
The Scouse Nativity runs from 6 November 2026 to 16 January 2027. Doors open at 7.30pm, so you’ll have time for a festive chippy tea beforehand, if you’re feeling traditional.
Where Is It?
Catch all the action at Liverpool Royal Court, 1 Roe Street, Liverpool, L1 1HL in the Main Stage theatre. You really can’t miss it, right by St George’s Hall and handy for the train home if you’ve had a bevvy (or two).
Tickets
Tickets are from £19. For all the details and to book, head to the official Royal Court booking page.
